The Shaman's Kila dagger

The Shaman's Kila dagger

June 26 – June 29, 2025

Edinburgh, Scotland

Kila - Ancient Sacred Ritual Tool is called Indra Kila, Vajra Kila, Thurpi, Phurba, Phurbu or Khurpa.

This is an introduction to the ‘Kila’ sacred ritual healing dagger, which was used by Dhami-Jhankri-Shamans for many centuries before being adopted by Buddhism and Hinduism. The Kila manifests the world tree, the three realms, and the Jhankri's helping spirits. You will learn how to use the Kila to extract spiritual illness, clear spaces, charge healing waters, impart blessings, and hold the centre of the cosmos for your shamanic work.

Kila activation will be performed at the centre of an auspicious Jhankri Astamangala (representing Eight Symbols). Each participant will conduct the ritual offerings and recite appropriate mantras, followed by techniques and an exchange of practices.

You will learn the sacred Kila Mantra and related Mudras (hand positions) and receive training on using them for healing, protection, grounding, and much more.

N.B. You will need a Kila to participate - please get in touch with the organizers.
