Naga course: knowing the Nagas is knowing the self and the world. Nagas, health and world environment.
February 7 – February 9, 2025
Belgium
We need pristine nature and a safe environment to survive and give continuity to life. It's time to know better where we live and what presence sustains all. Keeping this in mind, we have devised a clear mission to transmit Nagas' role and their importance to ourselves, the community, and planetary health and well-being.
The serpents, with their symbolic shedding of skin and rebirth, primarily represent transformation, death, and mortality. In large parts of Nepal, Southasia, and other parts of the world, there are carved representations of cobras, nagas, or even stones as substitutes. Food and flowers are offered to these semidivine beings, and soft lights and incense are burnt before the shrines, symbolizing our reverence for their transformative power.
As rain bringers, Nagas play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of nature, representing fertility and prosperity. Though guardians of treasure, they can also cause natural disasters such as floods and droughts when angered by disturbances and pollution. This underscores our interconnectedness with nature and our responsibility to maintain this delicate balance.
Nagas are curious and benevolent toward humans unless mistreated or provoked.
During these three days, the participants learn the myths and mysteries, sacred realms of Nagas within and without propitiations, asking for excuses, rituals, and sacred mantric chants. We will make active narrative journeys to bridge relationships for knowing the self, learning to honour them in nature's sacred places and supporting others in healing processes.
