Bhola - Jhankri Shaman

Founder and head instructor

My name is Bhola Banstola, I am a Jhankri shaman from Nepal with an extended family history and practice of shamanism.

Welcome to my website, where I hope to help people interested in traditional shamanism understand my Path and invite them to join my courses.
My greatest desire is to preserve and share the shamanism of my tradition, keep it alive and pass it on to new generations of practitioners.
I also support Nepali traditional lineage education (param-para) and culture. Through my work and the kindness of others I help poor children to start their education. I believe that shamans should always serve their communities in the best way they can.

  • Bhola graduated in cultural anthropology and spent many years with shamans in the Himalayan area (Nepal, India, Bhutan, Tibet), adapting shamanic techniques that allow him to be a “bridge” between ancient shamanic culture and modern vision.

  • Bhola participates in international conferences, gives lectures and courses in Italy, the United Stated and Nepal.

  • He is a founding president of the Nepal Shaman Association and member of the Society for Shamanic Practice.

  • The active member of Le Cercle De Saggesse De L’Union Des Traditions Ancestrales.

  • Nepalese Himalayan shamanism world teacher.

  • Author of the articles on shamanism.

  • Organizer and escort of special groups in Nepal and the Himalayas.

  • Facilitators, teacher, and organizer of special shamanic trips and pilgrimages to Nepal-Himalayas.

  • Participates and promotes international and regional conferences and seminars on shamanism.

My wife, Mariarosa Genitrini (Mimi), has been the most significant source of encouragement from the day we met. We started sharing and empowerment processes of Nepali Himalayan shamanic traditions in Italy in 1997. Soon afterwards, we broadened our mission into the European continent, North America and throughout the world. We did this to create a bridge connecting the ancient healing tradition with the modern world. We not only shared the wisdom to a broader audience through weekend classes, conferences, and retreats, but we also escorted groups to Asia and especially to the Nepal Himalayas so that participants could have direct experiential learning from different sources and teachers.

Our ancestors have left behind vibrant, deep-grounded, and authentic practices in the forms of lore, stories, sacred chants, songs, mantras, rhythms, dances, rituals, ceremonies, plant medicines, mineral medicines, sacred geometries, and geomancy that honour nature and her rhythms and changes. It is these I fervently wish to preserve as a living tradition for the future.

My blessing to you on your path.
My hope is that you may also hope to explore the richness of the Jhankri Way.
Sarwa Mangalam
