Banjhankri - the Primordial Shaman, Shamanic Didshya -Initiation and Upachar - Healing Rituals

February 13 – February 15, 2026

Belgium

These teachings are designed to initiate participants into the shamanic practices of the Nepalese Himalayan Jhankri - Shamanism lineage and to facilitate spiritual healing.

Over the course of three days, Bhola, a revered figure from the Nepalese Himalayan Jhankri-Shamanism lineage, will personally guide participants through the initiation process. A key focus will be on Banjhankri, the primordial shaman who resides in the sacred Himalayan terrains.

This is a transformative journey of remembrance and spiritual connection, where the participants journey to the cave behind the waterfall and enter the realm of Banjhankri, the Primordial shaman. His consort, the fierce Banjhankrini, is the doorkeeper to the sacred cave, who may even dismember the potential candidate, perform the rite of purification, and prepare them for receiving the teachings and initiation. This may mark the beginning of a journey to reconcile imbalances within oneself, one's ancestors, and the community. Empowered in this way, the participants will be introduced to the Spirit of the Snow Leopard, which will help them face and move through their limiting fears with the support and empowerment of the Banjhankri.

Through myths, stories, journeys, ceremonies, songs, and the group ritual of the Mansaune (cleansing and releasing), the group will work with all the elements to experience communal healing. This will not only provide participants with a sense of connection and belonging but also foster a supportive community environment, where everyone's journey is respected and supported.

The retreat will focus on empowerment and the use of shamanic tools and objects for self-healing and assisting others. This aspect of the retreat is designed to inspire and motivate participants on their personal healing journey.

While the retreat includes group ceremonies, Bhola will also provide individual healing experiences within the group framework. These will involve unique shamanic tools such as Chamar (yak tail), sacred bough bundles, and empowered water.

A personal blessing, a sacred power song and mantras, and an empowerment ritual of Siir Uthaunu (raising the individual spirit) will be followed by the Saato Bolaune (calling individual life essences) and the bestowing of protective threads, among other things.
