The constructive role...

The constructive role of nature, ancestry, lineage and Wisdom Goddesses in healing within Nepali Dhami - Jhankri shamanism

May 8 – May 1o, 2026

Toronto, Canada

Nepali Dhami-Jhankri Shamanism recognizes the profound impact of Nature, Ancestors and Lineage, viewing them as essential to the health and spiritual growth of future generations.

Don't miss this chance to learn from Bhola Banstola, a distinguished figure in the Nepali Dhami-Jhankri Shamanic Path. With decades of teaching experience, Bhola offers an invaluable opportunity to immerse yourself in this ancient wisdom that has been preserved and cherished over generations. This workshop is tailored for everyone—whether you are just starting out, a curious learner, or an experienced practitioner. We invite you to become part of a supportive and inclusive community.

This retreat coincides with Canada's Mother's Day, providing a meaningful opportunity to participate in a ceremony honouring mothers. Additionally, participants will experience a deep transmission of practices centered around the Goddess of Wisdom.

The Transmission encompasses both traditional lineage shamanism and an engagement with spirits. Participants will actively partake in shamanic narrative journeying, which includes drumming and the singing of sacred mantras. These practices are powerful tools that our ancestors used to access wisdom that goes beyond ordinary perceptions and timelines, all without the use of mind-altering substances. Instead, shamanic trance is achieved through the resonant influences of sacred songs, mantras, and drumming rhythms passed down from lineage teachers. Embracing and honouring our connections to Nature, Ancentors and Lineage is a crucial element of the shamanic journey.

Shamanism is widely recognized as one of humanity's oldest healing practices, offering tangible benefits on multiple levels. Participants can expect to deepen their personal healing, enrich their present experiences, and cultivate a vision for a more promising future. This path fosters emotional and psychological well-being, instilling hope and motivation for a brighter tomorrow.

For centuries, Dhami-Jhankri Shamans have utilized their gifts and sacred tools to address emotional trauma, alleviate anxiety and depression, and reduce physical pain, enabling communities to lead lives with greater security and confidence. This vibrant tradition is a testament to the enduring power of Shamanism, and participating in this retreat allows you to connect with this rich heritage actively.

The retreat's various levels of Transmission and Empowerment are designed to inspire and uplift every participant. This engaging journey unlocks pathways to address current personal and familial challenges, enhancing feelings of fulfillment, confidence, and joy while instilling a sense of empowerment and vision for the future.

Grounded in a connection to ancestry, lineage, and nature, Shamanism nurtures relationships with local spirits. Through seasonal rituals of respect and honour, participants will learn how to foster protection and harmony, leveraging a deep understanding of their surroundings and the guardians of the land as vital components of the traditional shamanic path.

Throughout the three days of transmissions, special attention will be given to Elemental spirits, directions, colours, rhythms, and their associated animal spirits. Participants will engage in a communal ceremony of 'Khadga Puja' to address physical, emotional, and spiritual barriers, fostering personal connections and interactions.

Following the ceremony, a highly revered Goddess figure, celebrated among Nepali shamans, will be introduced in a Mandalic form, featuring cosmic designs and offerings.
