Role of ancestry and lineage

Role of ancestry and lineage in Nepali Dhami - Jhankri Shamanism

May 15 – May 17, 2026

Vancouver, Canada

In Nepali Dhami-Jhankri Shamanism, the Ancestors and Lineage play a crucial role. They are considered the primary key to the health and spiritual development of the progeny. Understanding and honouring this role is a fundamental aspect of the shamanic path.

Embrace this exclusive chance to learn from Bhola Banstola, a revered carrier of the Nepali Dhami-Jhankri Shamanic Path with extensive teaching experience across the globe. His teachings present a rare opportunity to engage with and immerse oneself in this ancient wisdom and skills, which have been practised and passed down for generations. This is a journey open to beginners, the curious, and experienced practitioners alike, making you part of a select group.

The Transmission encompasses traditional lineage shamanism and the incorporation of spirits. Active shamanic narrative journeying, which involves playing the drum and singing sacred Mantras and songs, is part of the enormously powerful techniques used by the earliest ancestors to access wisdom beyond the range of ordinary senses and the timeline. In this tradition, no mind-altering plants or substances are used. Shamanic trance, a state of altered consciousness, is induced through the singing of sacred songs and Mantras transmitted by lineage teachers, spirits, and drumming rhythms.

Shamanism, the oldest spiritual healing practice of humankind, offers concrete benefits. It helps us confront past events, enrich the present, and envision a brighter future. Universally recognised, shamanic healing supports our emotional and psychological well-being, instilling hope and motivation for a better tomorrow. This is not just a practice, but a path to a more fulfilling life.

Shamanism is not just a fossilised history, but a living tradition of the people of Nepal. For millennia, Dhami-Jhankri Shamans have been using their gifts and sacred tools to heal emotional trauma, relieve anxiety and depression, reduce physical pain and help communities live whole lives with more security and confidence. This living tradition, deeply rooted in Nepal's culture, is a testament to the enduring power and relevance of Shamanism in the world today. By joining this workshop, you become part of this rich heritage.

The different levels of Transmission and empowerment in this workshop are designed to inspire and empower aspirants. They help students connect to profound sources of healing power and tap the soul's infinite potential. This journey opens the way to solving today's challenges and helps us feel more fulfilled, confident, and joyful.

As an earth-bound path related to ancestry, lineage, and nature, Shamanism helps connect with local spirits, build relationships with them, perform seasonal rituals to honour them, and, from time to time, propitiate them for protection and harmony. Deep knowledge of the neighbourhood and keepers of the land and the house is the foundation of the shamanic path.

During these three days of transmissions, a special focus will be on the Ancestors and Lineage. In traditional Nepali Shamanism, Ancestors hold the primal key and role in the health and spiritual development of the progeny. A special group ceremony will be celebrated with individual focus and connections.

A thorough understanding and regular practice are essential to progress to deeper levels of training and experience. Therefore, aspirants and curious individuals are invited to attend, which will open the doorways for future teachings and practices.
