Retreats

The retreats are created and led by Bhola. The retreats introduce you to the traditional ways of the Nepalese Shamanic Path. They are based on conducting active shamanic journeys (narratives) through drum playing and chanting sacred songs. These are central part of the extremely powerful techniques of our earliest ancestors, allowing access to wisdom beyond the scope of the ordinary senses.

As humanity's oldest spiritual healing practice, shamanism helps us to address past events, enrich the present and imagine the future. Widely recognised, spiritual healing supports our emotional and mental health. For millennia, shamans have used their gifts and sacred tools to heal emotional trauma, alleviate anxiety and depression, reduce physical pain and help their communities to live with greater security and confidence.

The different levels of transmission and empowerment help aspirants (students who aspire to develop these skills) connect to profound power sources and tap the soul’s infinite potential. Thus it opens ways to solve today’s challenges and help us feel more fulfilled, confident and joyful. Participants will also learn how to use time-tested methods to effectively receive guidance, visions, insights and healing tools for self-empowerment and helping others through rituals, dances, sacred songs, active journeying, mantras chanting, and of course, drumming.

All our transmission and empowerment events are independent of each other. Of course, the necessary understanding and practice are essential to proceed to deeper levels of training and experience, so we recommend that everyone attends the Introductory Transmission.

We are ready to travel to any destination wherever there are people interested in discovering and immersing themselves in experiential aspects of Shamanism, a living tradition of the people of Nepal to this day.

Our transmissions are not limited to indoor practices; we also offer outdoor ceremonies and rituals in remote natural surroundings. We can arrange to guide and accompany aspirants interested in deepening their practices in Nepal with Shamans of different cultural backgrounds, holders of ancient lineages, both men and women.

Note: Shamanic practices do not substitute any other types of healing or treatments.

Thank you and Namaste

This two-day experiential course in Nepali Jhankri-Shamanic healing provides an authentic introduction to the living tradition of the Dhami-Jhankri, Nepal's shamanic practitioners. Drawing on centuries-old Nepal-Himalayan wisdom, the program explores the relationship between humans and the Pancha Mahabhutas—the five great elements: Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), and Ether (Akash/Space). Participants learn about the Jhankri’s worldview, where elemental spirits are respected as conscious forces that guide healing, balance, and spiritual growth. Using hand gestures (mudras) and sacred instruments, shamans invoke, harmonise, and communicate with these elemental energies, supporting holistic well-being and spiritual resilience.

Day 1 introduces the mythic and historical origins of the Dhami-Jhankri lineage, tracing the transmission of shamanic knowledge through oral tradition, apprenticeship, and direct spiritual experience. The program emphasises the relationship with the Pancha Mahabhutas, each regarded as a living presence in the universe and the body. Through guided practice, participants learn to recognise each element's qualities and connect with them using breath, focus, visualisation, and traditional objects such as the Dhyangro (frame drum), Ghanti (bell), and other ritual objects. The day focuses on elemental invocation: calling upon Earth-Prithvi for grounding, Jal for emotional flow, Agni for transformation, Vayu for clarity, and Akash for spiritual expansion, while fostering respectful relationships with the spirits of these elements.

Every conscious being has the innate ability to focus and pursue goals. In our busy and changing lives, obstacles are natural. Distractions, family duties, and community influences can cloud our intentions and hinder progress.

Cultivating focus and clarity is essential in our work, professional lives, and healing journeys. Achieving our goals requires directing energy and attention, even in times of uncertainty. The presence and blessings of Nishani Devi, the Goddess of Focus and Enchantment, provide meaningful support in this process.

The name ‘Nishan’ means target, focus, or concentration, symbolising the force that turns intention into action. Whether you seek to overcome obstacles, deepen spiritual practice, strengthen relationships, or achieve professional excellence, Nishani Devi guides this process. She dispels confusion, clears pathways, and sustains attention, leading to lasting outcomes.

Experience the core of Nepali Jhankri shamanism and its ancient wisdom. This immersive retreat is intended for those seeking spiritual transformation, providing a unique opportunity to learn from the direct oral tradition of the Kila (Thurpi), the sacred ritual dagger central to Jhankri healing, invocation, and protection ceremonies.

The Kila is regarded not only as a tool, but as a vessel of shamanic power and ancestral wisdom. For the Nepali Jhankri, the Kila (Thurpi) serves as a bridge to the three worlds: underworld, middle world, and upper world, enabling direct invocation of spirits, protective deities, and elemental forces. This ritual dagger predates its later adoption into Bon, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Tantrism, and remains central to indigenous Nepal-Himalayan healing practices. The Kila is used to extract spiritual afflictions, seal energetic boundaries, purify and consecrate spaces, charge healing waters, offer blessings, and connect with the cosmic axis. Working with the Kila establishes a sacred relationship with spirit, activating and grounding both practitioner and invoked energies.

Participants will learn to develop a strong relationship with the Kila, integrating its protective, transformative, and healing qualities into daily life. The retreat combines experiential practice with theoretical insight, examining the Kila’s role in Nepali shamanic healing, invocation, protection, and the creation of sacred boundaries. In Jhankri cosmology, the Kila extends the shaman’s spiritual body, channels the force of the three worlds, and serves as a conduit for lineage wisdom.
